Have you noticed the club house has had a makeover.

Well done to all the volunteers who contributed to the decorating of the club house and a special thanks to Bob Prince for arranging this and for all the extra hours he has put in.

Notice to all male members-
If you are interested in playing for one of our teams in the Southampton and District Bowls Leagues this coming season, please register your interest by adding your name to the list posted on the S&D notice board in the clubhouse.  It would be appreciated if you could do this at your earliest convenience.
The club has 3 teams, competing at various levels of ability, Championship, Combination and Triples Leagues.
Note: The S&D notice board has recently been relocated from the Mens changing room and is now on the wall in the main clubhouse, to the left of the Mens changing room.
In the event that you are unable to get to the club then please email me and I will add your name to the list.
Many thanks,
Brian Ford

Club Telephone and WI-FI

We have had a new WI-Fi Router fitted at the club and also a change to the phone system, but will be continuing with our same number shortly.

Having completed the phone work, the old number needs to be ‘Ported’ by BT to bring it back on line. This should be done in the next couple of days, so the phone will be unavailable until completed.

Wi-Fi is available but because of the change in Router, everyone who wants to use the wi-fi at the club will need to apply the new password to their phones etc. I have put a note by the Booking screen advising of this.    - info passed on from Neil Fletcher.

A win for Lockswood on Meon Valley's indoor short mat.

Two teams of Four played a Friendly match at Meon Valley on their (long) Short Mat on Wed 11th Jan.

The A team were trailing 4-14 at the 9 end tea break but girded their loins and pulled away to a magnificent 20-15 win.

The B team had a very close match but managed a 5 point win (to much joy!) on the last end to take the match 17-14.

This was quite an achievement for LBC, none of the old hands ever remembering such a success on Meons short mat.

New Years Day fun bowlers on a brisk Winters Day - the mulled wine and hot mince pies were much appreciated after bowling.

LBC at Bembridge October 2023

We had 38 who went to Bembridge and had a great time.  Entertainment was excellent and bowling was a challenge but enjoyable.

We had three teams in the quarter finals, two in the semi-finals. Once again Lockswood were in the finals. Unfortunately  Christine and Bob Prince, Jan and Ron Collins were up against a strong team in the finals from Kingsthorpe BC Northampton and came second.
