SUNDAY THE 14th JULY WAS THE DATE OF OUR ANNUAL CASTLE CUP COMPETITION BETWEEN LOCKSWOOD BC AND PORCHESTER BC .

 6 TRIPLES MATCHES .

IT WAS A VERY TIGHTLY FOUGHT MATCH WITH LOCKSWOOD FINALLY SECURING A WIN  13 POINTS TO 11.

THANK YOU AGAIN

BOB PRINCE

CLUB CAPTAIN.

                                  YOU CAN DO IT

It takes all sorts to make a world.

Some are shy and some are bold

Others are quiet whilst others are loud

Some people will always stand out in the crowd

It doesn’t matter which one you are

There are jobs to be done without looking far

So please come forward and do your bit

Some find it easy, I must admit

But you can do it so give it a try

I know from experience, I’ve no need to lie

The thing we worry about a lot is in eyes of others, looking a clot

The way to overcome this fear is only made to clear

You know that you are your best in trying to please all the rest

Things don’t always go just right and there’s someone waiting to verbally bite,

but where are they, for the work to be done,

usually hiding behind everyone.

So, stand up tall and throw out your chest

Remember people can only do their best.

When you are asked, give it a try don’t let the position pass you by.

Its easy if you just be yourself, far better than sitting on the shelf.

I have made mistakes I know, some of them don’t always show.

Most people are so very nice and offer help without thinking twice,

Come and join the powers that be.

They are all just people like you and me.

Presidents Day Sunday 7 July

Spider winner Harry Bryant asks "what am I supposed to do with this Amber liquid?"

Presented by President Peter Blake.

A great day was had by the 44 bowlers, the weather gods were kind to us after a dreadful mornings rain.

A delicious 3 course Dinner followed the games, thanks to Jill and the volunteers in the kitchen.

£170 was raised for Prostate Cancer, the Presidents charity, from the Spider, Cake sale and Raffle.

Well done to all involved in the organising.
