                            Autumn Triples 2022

The final round of matches were played on Monday 28th November with Kenya and Nigeria battling it out for top spot whilst three teams were vying for the wooden spoon.

Kenya had a comfortable 17-6 win but Nigeria were made to fight to the last end by bottom team Australia when the point they won earned them a 10-10 draw to finish level on points with Kenya.  Their superior points difference gave them the Tournament Winners Title.

At the other end of the table both Cyprus and India won leaving a valiant Australia to pick up the wooden spoon.

After the match John Sherrington presented the winning Nigeria Team Captain Walter Metcalf with the trophy donated by Rod Maxted.

The other members of the Nigeria team are;

 Kay Walsh, Roger Wellstead, Christine Prince, Dave Forsythe and Dave Garside.

I would like to thank all the Team Captains who helped ensure the Tournament ran smoothly and all the volunteers who helped set up the rinks each week . Finally, commiserations to teams Fiji and Jamaica who were unable to play today because rink 6 was water-logged.

WEBMASTER "BOWLS" OUT!

Dear Members,

I have been on the Committee for the last five years and took over the Website following on from my husband John who started the Website back in 2015.

I have enjoyed serving on the Committee and taking part in the decision making on behalf of the Club Members.

The website has grown over the past few years and has given me a detailed insight into the bowling world and Lockswood Bowling Club. I hope it has made life easier for everyone providing club news and information from the external bowls world  for you to have at your finger tips.

I still plan to bowl but am about to resign from the Committee and therefore have to relinquish my position as Webmaster.

The website will continue to flourish under the new Webmaster, Pat Downes,

who I am sure will bring new and fresh ideas to the Website.

Finally, I would like to thank you for all the support you have given me over my time as Webmaster.  It has all been an enjoyable experience.  I have been "Happy to Serve" and I wish the new Committee and Webmaster all the very best for the future.

Good Luck and Best Wishes,

Carol Windust.
