BETTER LATE THAN NEVER!

On Sunday 25th October the Winter Competitions for the 2019 - 2020 season were finally completed.

This competition would usually be completed in April, but this year was an exception due to the lockdown. However, the Winter Pairs and Singles went ahead yesterday despite heavy rain prior to the matches and a downpour as the competition got under way. However, this did not last, the sun came out and the matches were completed in the dry.

The Pairs contestants were Stewart McCabe and Alan Jackson versus Carol and John Windust.  The Singles contestants were John Beaumont versus Roger Wellstead.

Both matches were very close especially the singles which went right to the wire, with John Beaumont clinching the trophy right at the end.

Although the pairs score was not so close the players had a good game and Stewart and Alan came through as well deserved victors for their first ever win!

Congratulations to all players for making the final and well done to the winners of both competitions.

Many thanks to all the spectators who braved the unsettled conditions to give their support to the contestants. It was much appreciated.

Thanks also go to Rod Maxted for his organisation of the competition. Bob Prince and Rod prepared the rinks on Finals Day so that the bowlers would not lose their woods amongst the many Autumn leaves, and again many thanks to you both.

Can Anyone Help?

Has anyone accidentally taken home Joan's jacket?  She has left her fleece waterproof jacket with her gloves and spray chalk in the pocket at the Club.  Her name is not clearly visible inside.

If so, please contact her on  01329 842257.

Many thanks.

Online Booking System Winter.jpg

Online Booking System

The system has been down for a couple of days while we make provision for the new winter hours. I am pleased to say it is now back and you can resume booking. You will notice there are two tabs, The summer one runs until, the 24th October and to make any bookings after this date, you will need to use the Winter tab.

The system is very similar, but if you get stuck, there are instructions for the Winter Calendar, available by clicking the "Booking Instructions" button at the top of this page.

Unfortunately due to the software, it is only possible to show one calendar beneath the bookings, at the moment we are showing the Summer Calendar, but after the 24th October, we will be able to offer the Winter Calendar.

You will see that your Committee have elected to go to four rinks, after the 24/10 and there will be three daily sessions, 0900 - 1100, 1130 - 1330 and 1400 - 1600. Please bear in mind that if you are booking for a timed competition, you may struggle to finish in the light if you book the 1400 - 1600 slot.

Finally the December dates will be released at the end of October. Enjoy your bowling.
