Competitive Bowling
Club Competitions
During the winter months, members play in Pairs and Singles competitions starting in September. These follow a "round robin" format before moving into quarter, semi and final matches. This gives everyone a chance to have several games in the competitions. The winter Finals are held in April.
During the summer we hold many club competitions. These follow a "knock out" format. New bowlers are encouraged to enter as soon as they feel ready for competition. Our club Presentation Dinner Dance is held in November and all the trophies are awarded at this event.
Bowls Hampshire and District Competitions
Members can choose to enter these competitions and the club also fields selected teams in both County and District team competitions. Success in the Bowls Hampshire competitions can lead to entry in theNational Finals at Leamington Spa.
Southampton and District Leagues
Players are selected to represent the Club in the S&D. Lockswood enter teams in the Men's Championship and Combination Leagues and the Ladies A Rinks and Ladies' B Triples Leagues.
Gosport and Fareham Leagues
The G&F leagues are a mixed triples format and Lockswood enter three teams. Currently, the Reds are in Division One, the Golds in Division Two and the Greens in Division Three.
Friendlies
The Club also play friendlies against other Clubs and there is a very full programme throughout the season.
